Non-GMO Ground Cherries "Aunt Molly's"
Native of eastern and central North America. Great for preserves, pies, over ice cream, or in fresh fruit salads. The ½-¾" fruits are encased in a papery husk that turns brown when the fruits ripen. A member of the tomato family and bears 1/2- 3/4" sweet golden berries inside papery husks. Great fun for the kids.
The plants want good soil, lots of sun and heat, regular feeding, and careful staking. Your reward will be sweet fruit for many weeks, plus the rich, unmistakable Tomato scent that alone is enough to make your mouth water.
