About the event
Insect populations are falling at a dramatic rate. A huge problem is due to loss of habitat.
More than 95% of insects are beneficial to other animals and mankind....
Insects need a place to live if they are to stick around. If everyone in the neighbourhood were
to build a few insect hotels and grow herbs, flowers and other insect attracting plants, we
would be making a big difference.
Come to Black Forest and join us on April 28th from 10 to 11:30 am where you will learn all
about pollinators (mason bees, leaf cutter bees, butterflies and other interesting insects), and the
plants that attract them.
We will also teach you how to make your own insect hotel by using a variety of materials you
can find in nature, and perhaps lying about in your garage, recycling bin, potting shed or
garage. Up-cycling, recycling, and sustainability....all in one.
